Cheloids (Keloids)
Nodular, frequently lobulated, firm, moveable, non-encapsulated, often linear mass of hyperplastic scar tissue, consisting of wide irregularly distributed bands of collangenous fibrous tissue. Occurs in the dermis and adjacent subcutaneous tissue, usually after trauma, surgery, a burn, or severe cutaneous disease such as systic acne, and is more common in non-Caucasians.
