Telomere
Before a cell divides, it copies its chromosomes to give each new cell complete set. Most cells, however, this process does not include the o spirals of DNA called telomeres, which protect the ends of every chromosome. Telomeres get shorter with each cell division. Some scientists believe they are so short the cell can no longer divide and becomes vulnerable to damage and decay.
